IMPORTANT COUNCIL MEETING TUESDAY JULY 25TH 7:00 PM
It has been some time since sending out a Club Update and there is considerable information to cover.
Firstly it is important that as many club members as possible attend the Tuesday July 25th council meeting. Please come early! Doors open at 6:30 PM but we ask that you arrive early to ensure club members get a seat. Please do not assume we will have a good turn out. We are in peak vacation period and if you can attend it is greatly appreciated.
At our last meeting we had 50+ members attend the Buffet BBQ and thanks to Alex & Sandy’s generosity the $625.00 proceeds from the BBQ will be donated to the Wasaga Beach Ministerial Foodbank.
Bill Stockwell provided an update on the Beach Management Board, followed by the foodbank initiative presentation. 73 members attended the meeting.
The foodbank made the same presentation to council Thursday July 20th at Coordinated Committee and we are confident that this will result in increased support going forward. The plan is to offset moving costs and increased rent costs through fund raising initiatives and increased town support.
To date only about 7 club members have confirmed their participation in updating the new foodbank location. We expect we will start painting in early August and continue on racking and other updates through the entire month. We will communicate dates as soon as a work schedule has been completed. A small committee of foodbank volunteers are currently working on the details.
We continue to look for volunteers to work on a number of Club sub committees and it would normally only require one additional meeting per month. The sub committees are as follows;
- Membership sub committee
- Communication & Marketing sub committeek
- 13 Ways sub committee
- Events & Social sub committee

Due to summer vacation we are not planning a normal meeting for August but please block the evening July 21st in your schedules. We are planning a full lunar eclipse party and foodbank fund raiser and you will not want to miss it! (More details to follow soon)
