We just want to update all club members regarding our Feb. 8th meeting & Youth Centre Fund Raiser.
A huge THANK YOU to Boston Pizza for donating the pizza allowing all of the dinner proceeds to go to the Youth Centre. Also a thank you to Joe & Marilyn Belanger for donating the pop, water, snacks, napkins, etc.
We were able to donate $440.00 to the Youth Centre / Senior Drop In Renovation Initiative.
A big thank you to Chris Roos – Director of Recreation, Facilities & Events, as well as Shelly Brook – Youth Centre Coordinator. Chris provided details regarding the Youth Centre Renovation Initiative and Shelly updated the club on the new Youth Advisory Council. Andrew McNeill – Director of Economic Development gave a very brief update on Downtown Master Plan and Bill Stockwell explained the high level difference between an At Large System Vs. a Ward System and recommended that club members do additional research into the pros & cons of each system.
As always Club Members ate up the valuable information presented but also quickly ate up all of the pizza! In fact we are concerned that some members arriving late may have only received one piece or no pizza for their generous donation. If this happened to you please reply to this email and we will ensure that you are taken care of.
We we also talked about some upcoming events;
- Snowman Mania next weekend
- WBWBA Dancing Through The Decades Feb. 17th 8:00 PM Recplex $15.00 with a portion of the proceeds going to Big Brothers Big Sisters.
- Coldest Night Of The Year Walk Food Bank Fund Raiser – Feb. 24th 4:00 PM Recplex Oakview Room.

We then all attended the public meeting at the Recplex. This update presentation on the Community Hub was informative and very well received by the majority in attendance.
Finally a big THANK YOU to all of our Club Members that continue to be engaged and participate in the many meetings, initiatives and charitable fund raisers that are so important to the continuous improvement of our community. Our club continues to make a visible positive difference in our community, as well as supporting the development of our Main Street and the redevelopment of our beach front.
It was very evident at last night’s meeting that there are many residents that share in our enthusiasm for positive change and represent strong opportunity to grow our membership.
