WELCOME HOME SNOWBIRDS - IMPACT WASAGA BEACH TO CONTINUE MAKEING A POSITIVE DIFFERENCE
Dear Impact Wasaga Beach Club Members;
Well the world has certainly changed since our last event in the fall!
Never before in our lifetime have we been faced with such uncertainty related to the threat facing our health and our financial stability. With that said most of us are not in the position that we need to worry about our next mortgage payment, rent payment or worse yet, as to how we will afford groceries next week.
Unfortunately this is the sad reality for many in our community and we would like to do something to help our most vulnerable residents. We would also like to do something to thank and support those front line individuals that are risking their own wellbeing in continuing to deliver essential services to us. This is a big endeavour and we will not be able to get it all done ourselves but hopefully our actions will motivate others to do the same.
With your support and donation commitments we will start by thanking and supporting the front line staff that are keeping pharmacies open and also for Personal Support Workers. We are starting here as many of these individuals are not in a high pay bracket. If you have other suggestions please let us know. Obviously Paramedics, Fire, Public Works and many others are deserving as well and we will try to thank and support as many as we can.
The idea is that we will pick locations or groups and provide thank you cards, lunches or gift cards from local restaurants. In this way we will support as many of our local heroes as possible, as well as our many hard hit local businesses. In some cases it may only be a letter of appreciation and a dozen donuts.
In addition a portion of the donations will also be given to the local food banks. We anticipate with the high volume of minimum wage earners that are currently being laid off that demand on our food banks could double in the near future.
We have a small team that will manage the process but due to the nature of the initiative charitable receipts will not be provided, however a detailed account of all donations and expenses will be maintained. We have already received a number of donation commitments so we hope to get the initiative started early next week.
You can make a donation commitment by return email and then mail a cheque to the following address. Cheques should be made out to Patrice McCammon (Treasurer) and enter Impact Wasaga Beach Club on the memo line.

We are hopeful that we will all get through the current pandemic in good health! We look forward to when we can resume our meetings and social dinners. Given the success of our last dinner and golf putting event we will plan something really exciting once the ALL Clear is given. God Bless, Stay Home & Stay Safe!
