IMPACT WASAGA BEACH CLUB CORONAVIRUS FRONT LINE WORKER RECOGNITION INITIATIVE UPDATE - APRIL 5TH, 2020
Dear Impact Wasaga Beach Club Members;
First order of business is to ask our members if they participate in other organizations like Probus Clubs, Lions, Rotary etc. and if you do we would like you to pass on a challenge that they also find creative ways to recognize our front line heros that continue to put their own well being at risk in providing us with the essential services we require. No doubt some are already doing this and if so please share their initiatives by return email.
Thanks to your generosity to date we have received donations totalling $1,570.00. We have been in contact with Christina Armstrong – Volunteer Manager of our Wasaga Beach Ministerial Food Bank and will be dropping off a $600.00 donation on Tuesday. The 47 thank you cards with gift cards for the Saint Elizabeth Health Care Personal Support Workers were delivered on Friday and distribution will be completed next week. We have now prepared and or delivered thank you packages to all of the pharmacy teams in town. Shoppers Drug Mart was delivered today and Superstore and Walmart Pharmacy thank you packages will be done on Monday.
In further supporting local restaurants we added to the long list of gift card purchases to also include Harvey’s and Toppers Pizza. Many of our local restaurants have been very supportive in sponsoring community event like the New Wasaga Beach Library Build Fund, Blues Festival, etc. and it was nice to be able to support them for a change.
We currently have exhausted donations received to date but still have a long list of front line workers to recognize so if you have not yet made a donation please give it some consideration.
