Impact Wasaga Beach - News IMPACT WASAGA BEACH CLUB THANK YOU INITIATIVE UPDATE - APRIL 25, 2020 Good Day Impact Wasaga Beach Club Members; This is a very exciting update on our Impact Wasaga Beach Club Coronavirus Front Line Workers Recognition Initiative and to thank everyone that has made a donation to date. This initiative recognizes our local heroes that put their own well being at risk in continuing to deliver the essential services we require. The recognition includes a thank you card and a gift card from local restaurants, which also need our support through these challenging times. In most cases the gift cards are to facilitate a team lunch, however in some cases where it is difficult to bring employees together we provide a thank you card and gift card to individuals. We have raised $9,720.00 to date and have delivered thank you packages including gift cards to seven pharmacies, 47 Saint Elizabeth Health Care Personal Support Workers servicing Wasaga Beach, Foodland, South Georgian Bay Community Health Centre, the Wasaga Beach Fire Department, Wasaga Beach Public Works and Wasaga Beach Town Hall, Georgian Triangle Hospice, four automotive repair shops including Canadian Tire, TD Canada Trust, The UPS Store, Lifelabs, Waterside Retirement Lodge, Wasaga Beach Ministerial Food Bank volunteers and Wasaga Beach Transit bus drivers.   In addition we have made two donations to the Wasaga Beach Ministerial Food Bank totalling $5,750.00. An important note is that we tried to donate bulk hand sanitizer and $1,000.00 to the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital for lunches and dinners for our front line Health Care Professionals but due to policy and procedures it was not possible. Instead they asked that we donate the money to our food bank in honour and recognition of these brave & dedicated life savers, which we did. Supported local restaurants include Subway, Tim Horton’s, Swiss Chalet, Boston Pizza, MacDonald’s Toppers Pizza, Harvey’s and Dairy Queen restaurants. To date we have handed out $2,570.00 in gift cards. We still have funding to continue to identify and recognize additional front line workers and will keep you updated on our ongoing initiative. We have a number of donations committed and if we get a few more we are hoping to make a $1,000.00 donation to the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation. Thanks to a generous donation from Kenn Voss, owner of Canadian Tire we distributed 20L bulk pails of hand sanitizer to Saint Elizabeth PSWs, Waterside Retirement Lodge, Georgian Triangle Hospice, Town of Wasaga Beach, wasaga Beach Ministerial Food Bank and a number of pharmacies (for their own use). In addition we are working with a Collingwood distillery to provide hand sanitizer in smaller packaging to be handed out to food bank clients. Special thanks go out to Mark & Ethan Crowe – Stonebridge Developments, Kenn Voss – Canadian Tire and David Cubit & Peter Wilkins – Wasaga Beach Brewing Company for their very generous donations.
