SOUTH GEORGIAN BAY BUSINESS NETWORK JULY 4 MEETING REMINDER

SGB Business Network meeting
Tuesday July 4 at 7:00pm.

Location for this meeting is The Clever Office in Collingwood
1 First St. Unit 220 (upstairs from the LCBO)
Lots of parking at back of building, enter through door with OFFICES sign above it

This group is designed to help promote our fellow business owners by taking some time to get to know one another and give each other quality referrals.

At each meeting we will introduce ourselves with our 30 second infomercial, then we will have a speaker give us tips, tools, advice and valuable information about small business in general. Then we will have 2 business spotlights. This is where you get to give a 10 minute presentation all about your business. We will choose 2 members prior to each meeting so that you will have plenty of time to prepare. Each of us will also draw a business card and then make an appointment with that person to find out all about their business so that you can hopefully provide them with a quality referral. 

Our speaker for this meeting will be Craig Marsh of AardvarkWONe Ltd

Craig Marsh is a Sales and Management Consultant who has recently starting is own consulting 
firm AardvarkWONe Limited. He is also the Sales Director of Now Media Pty Ltd in South Africa, 
a small business to business publishing company.  
 
Craig sold his first ad at age sixteen when he decided to get rights to sell advertising in the 
school newsletter instead of selling items to students at break time for his business project. 
 
Mislead by this first experience in sales Craig thought he knew something about sales. While 
running a small online publication in Canada he was challenged by sales management and 
didn't know how to get his team to perform. In solution mode, Craig decided to find someone to 
train his sales people to sell. On this quest he met his still-today-mentor, Tim Rooney of Rooney 
Earl & Partners. In trying to get his sales people trained, Craig was told by Tim that he was not 
going to get his people to perform if their sales manager (Craig) didn't know what to do, as a 
result Tim wouldn't train Craig's people but he did end up training Craig. Craig spent the next 
five years under Tim's tutelage studying, practicing and finally teaching and selling the Sandler 
Sales and Management systems.
