Tony Macri has created a unique style of art combing surrealism, pop and street art using inventive mediums. His art has been described as evoking a happy feeling. It is always thought provoking, engaging, honest and sometimes a satirical commentary of today’s society.
Tony was greatly influenced by his uncle Franceso Macri a passionate surrealist painter. Born March 5th,1956 in Calabria southern Italy, Tony immigrated to Canada at age 9 and made Toronto his new home. At Danforth Tech his passion for art was ignited, inspired by Salvador Dali and Andy Warhol. Tony’s extensive art career took many forms from Creative Director to painter.
Art Director at Sears Canada honoured with the JC Barrows Award of Outstanding Achievement award once every 25 years.
Art Director at various advertising agencies creating ad campaigns for large corporations.
Currently painting full time and enjoying his studio by the beach in Wasaga Beach, Ontario.
